Behind the Scenes - The Outback Adventure

Behind the Scenes of The Outback Adventure

How to make a fair dinkum Aussie outback Sylvanian roo when you
need one?
Well, Mrs Springer (who was currently idle in the story) got called
up for that part.

Boomerang Springer
Mrs Springer

Borrow, Postman Pete's bag and pants, Mr Badgers suede waistcoat, and what to do
for a Aussie hat when you're outback holidaying miles from anywhere?

A quick sort around for something to create a makeshift floppy hat?!? Aha...a brown paper bag!
Cut a hole for ears... flop it around a bit
and Boomerang is happy as can be with his new Akubra

And a word of thanks to the kind lady who allowed me the use
of her 1:12 scale miniature mining camp (pictured above and below) she had made several years ago..
On our outback trip I noticed this miniature miner's camp below in the Information Centre glass cabinet.
I just had to photograph this, for Boomerang Springer's mining camp. Perfect. There was so much amazing, realisitic detail ... down to tin camping cups, miniature mining tools, a toilet roll in a "real" Aussie dunny.
Asking around the town I managed to find the lady who'd made it, and got permission to take it outdoors to photograph.
Many thanks, Gwen!
